Ireland’s first National Public Procurement Strategy, Procuring for Our Future 2026-2030, sets out a roadmap for how public sector organisations will purchase goods, services and works over the next five years. The strategy aims to deliver strategic, innovative, sustainable and transparent procurement that supports SMEs, promotes fair competition, ensures value for money, and contributes to better public services.

Built around five strategic pillars, the strategy focuses on strengthening sustainability, innovation, digitalisation, capability building, transparency, and supplier engagement across the public sector. It includes 51 actions to be implemented by government departments and agencies to modernise procurement practices, improve efficiency, support economic growth, and enhance public trust in public spending.

The strategy was developed through extensive consultation with public bodies, suppliers, SMEs, stakeholders, and the European Commission, ensuring a collaborative approach to shaping the future of public procurement in Ireland.
